Privacy
Disks Etc. LLC, operated for this publication by Michael Venianakis, controls the account and community information described here. No third-party analytics or advertising trackers are installed.
Information we store
Accounts store a private email address, public username, role and creation date. Community submissions, ratings, votes, reports, timestamps, and moderation actions are stored in a private database. Sign-in tokens are stored as hashes and expire after 15 minutes. Session cookies are essential for sign-in and form security; they are Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. Public reading requires no account.
Security and retention
Application rate limits use hashed keys derived from IP addresses or email addresses and short expiration windows. Expired rate-limit entries are periodically removed. Hosting infrastructure may retain standard access and error logs, including IP addresses; this application does not control server-wide retention. Login tokens are carried in URL fragments and submitted by POST, not query strings. Do not share sign-in links.
Accounts and published contributions remain until removed by the operator or through an account request, subject to retaining records needed to investigate abuse. Backups may retain older data until rotated. No indefinite retention guarantee or particular legal outcome is promised.
Email and service providers
Sign-in mail, once configured, goes through the operator’s configured mail transport. It contains a single-use account link. We do not send newsletters or marketing emails. Your inbox controls account access. Email addresses are not shown to other readers.
Requests
When sign-in is available, submit a private account request to the operator through an established business contact channel; do not post your email in Community. The current launch has no automated account export or deletion tool. The operator can export or remove account data server-side after confirming account ownership. The protected administration area provides moderation and role tools. Until a dedicated contact channel is published, account-based participation remains unavailable during mail configuration.
